Equipping housing associations in Wales to be fit for the future
In a post COVID world, if we want to achieve our vision of ‘A Wales where good housing is a basic right for all’, we need new ways of thinking and new ways of working.
That’s why we’ve launched Alcemi.
Our Alcemi programme tackles both the structural issues that require policy and funding change but also seeks to build capacity and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation to do things differently.
Influencing to build a better future
Our Influencing for a Better Future programme kicked off in 2020 when we co-designed our manifesto for the Welsh Parliament Elections with over 100 housing association colleagues and tenants to identify the biggest challenge standing on our way to achieve our vision of a Wales where good housing is a basic right for all.
Some of the challenges identified will be further explored as part of our Innovation work, but many of the challenges and solutions around structural issues that require policy and funding change have made it into ‘Home’, our manifesto for the Welsh Senedd Election in 2021.
A key theme in our Corporate Plan is to equip members to be fit for the future.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to develop a twelve month pilot programme which will see CHC playing both a facilitating and an enabling role to build innovation capacity in the sector and foster a culture of collaboration to do things differently.
Part of this programme includes piloting an innovation process with Simply Do ideas and Element.
Our People Potential strand will tell the story about what it’s like to work in the Welsh housing sector. The ‘This is Housing’ campaign uses case studies to highlight the range of career opportunities available and the many benefits of working and volunteering in the sector.
As part of this programme, we will also work with the sector to nurture talent and develop the workforce of the future.
