Chief Executive, Community Housing Cymru
Stuart has been Chief Executive at Community Housing Cymru since October 2014. He was previously Assistant Director of Policy and Research at the National Housing Federation, the trade body for housing associations in England, and has worked for the local authority in both Swansea and Cardiff.Since joining Community Housing Cymru, he has overseen the launch of Housing Horizons, a long-term vision for a Wales where good housing is a basic right for all. He also signed a Housing Supply Pact in December 2016 with Welsh Government and WLGA on behalf of the housing sector in Wales.
The Housing Supply Pact will see us deliver 20,000 homes during this government term (2016-2021). In November 2017, Stuart led a call for a review on the supply of affordable housing, to enable housing associations in Wales to achieve the sectors ambitions. Stuart believes that the wide ranging work that housing associations do transforms people’s lives for the better and has committed to ensuring that the policy and operating environment allows them to deliver their huge potential.
